Here’s a new toddler/preschooler item I’m obsessed with: food flashcards!
They come with five “category cards,” color-coded for fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, and good fats. Then there are a bunch of food cards to choose from, all color-coded to match that category. The “chicken” card below for example, has a blue outline to match “protein”.

You then let your kiddo pick out any foods they want! This way you know they’re getting their vegetables and all their protein, and mealtime goes more smoothly because they feel in control. A perfect win-win!

You get to choose which categories you want your child to eat. For mealtimes I like to have something from all five categories. But snack time, for example, I give a little more flexibility: LO gets to pick a fruit or veggie AND a protein or fat. She has come up with some great combinations!
Here’s the link if you’d like to snag a set yourself:

They come in packs of 20, 40, or 60 cards.
Let me know what you think, mama!
